With over 13 years of expertise in early-phase development of small molecule drug candidates, five of which building a
HTE-laboratory together with Vera Jost, Georg Wuitschik is a seasoned scientist and innovator in process chemistry.
As a Laboratory Head and Senior Principal Scientist at F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. in Basel, he has pioneered the design
and troubleshooting of synthetic routes for drug candidates, managed GMP campaigns with international partners, and led
several critical projects between GLP Tox and Phase III.
Dr. Wuitschik recently spearheaded the design and establishment of a High-Throughput Experimentation (HTE) laboratory, enabling efficient
chemical process development. His most recent publications are in the fields of artificial intelligence for reaction outcome prediction,
data analysis and the report on HTE OS, an open-source High-Throughput Experimentation workflow. Academically, Dr. Wuitschik holds a PhD from ETH Zurich,
where his work introduced oxetanes to drug discovery. His research has been widely recognized, with over 2,000 citations and an h-index of 17,
reflecting the impact of his work on the scientific community. His postdoctoral research at Cambridge University furthered his expertise in
complex molecule synthesis. Recognition for his contributions includes the Klaus-Grohe-Award for Medicinal Chemistry and an ETH Medal for his thesis.
