Anna Simonetto is an organic chemist researcher specialized in process chemistry. She earned her Master's Degree in Chemistry from the University of Pavia in 2022 with prof. Paolo Quadrelli, presenting an experimental thesis conducted at the R&D laboratories of Dipharma Francis, which focused on C- and N-nitrosation reactions. Following her graduation, Anna undertook a research fellowship at the University of Piemonte Orientale “A. Avogadro”, in the group of Prof. G.B. Giovenzana, where she developed innovative routes for the industrial preparation of active pharmaceutical ingredients and their intermediates. In 2023, she joined Dipharma Francis in Milan as an R&D researcher and in 2024, she pursued a Master Course in “Process Chemistry Applied to APIs” at the University of Milan. Her thesis, titled “New Approach for Nitrosamine Risk Assessment Evaluation,” highlights her expertise in nitrosamines, focusing on nitrosamine risk assessment evaluation on industrially relevant API molecules using 15N-NMR. This work has been taken further, exploring the potential of the 15N-NMR technique for the detection, analysis and understanding formation pathways of nitrosamine impurities.
