Marcello Rasparini received his Degree in Chemistry at the University of Genova in 1997 in the group of Prof Giuseppe Guanti,
and his PhD in 2001 at the University of Leeds (UK) with Prof Ron E Grigg working on Pd catalyzed multicomponent reactions.
Marcello started his professional career as a researcher at Chimete, a contract research company located in Tortona (Italy).
Then moved to Dipharma (Milano) and subsequently Chemo Group (Novara) where he led a group dedicated to the development of novel
synthetic routes to generic active pharmaceutical ingredients.
From 2015 he works at JNJ in Beerse (Belgium) where he coordinates the chemical development and of new small molecules from pre-clinical through Phase 3. From 2021 he’s involved in establishing ADC (Antibody Drug Conjugates) development capabilities at JNJ working at the interface between biologics and small molecules and progressing bioconjugates from discovery into manufacturing.
He’s author of 18 papers and 25 between patents and patent applications.
