Dr Francis Gosselin

Francis Gosselin was born and raised in Montréal, Canada. He obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Université de Montréal in 2000 (Advisor: Professor William D. Lubell) and was an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University (Advisor: Professor Paul A. Wender). He began his industrial process chemistry career at Merck Frosst Canada and Merck Research Laboratories in Boulder and Rahway (2002-2010). He joined Genentech in 2010 and was appointed Head of Process Chemistry in 2015. Francis is Vice President of Synthetic Molecule Pharmaceutical Sciences at Genentech and oversees all aspects of pharmaceutical R&D and manufacturing of drug substances and products for clinical trials. He has co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications and is a co-inventor on 38 patents.
